# 1: The Silence of the Lambs
I've had this book for years, at least 5 of them, and I finally got around to starting it. It is a quick read, a page turner, not much in terms of description or a narrator giving the reader background. It is narrative driven, moving quickly from event to event, 61 chapters in 360 pages.
The book and movie are quite similar - I didn't notice any major differences. Then again, I saw the movie quite a while ago. It came out in 1991 - I only know that because I was watching I love the 90s on VH1 and they mentioned the movie.
What else can I say? Interesting characters, especially Hannibal. Clarice is a stud, she does pretty much everything right and is only an FBI trainee. Jame (Should have been Jamie, due to a clerical error that no-one bothered to fix) Gumb, the other serial killer, is fucking freaky. Skinning women to wear the skin as an outfit. Killing his grandparents at the tender age of 10-12. Being a fake transsexual?
Do you think it is true that hospitals administer psychology tests to those who want to undergoe sex-changes? It is not enough to want to do it, they need to decide that you are "stable?" "not crazy?", strange isn't it? Especially since it appears that there are "right" answers to the test.
I can't believe that Harris, the author, used this line: "Don't Assume, It makes an ass out of u and me." No podes viejo, no podes.
I guess at some point it would be interesting to read the Red Dragon, and also see if he wrote Hannibal or if that was just a movie. Jest checked, he wrote it as well. Well, more happy reading .. but before that I'll choose something else.
Keep you posted!
